Michael is completing a Master of Public Administration at the University of Victoria and is joining CanAssist as a Business Development co-op. He brings a community-first perspective shaped by an undergraduate degree in anthropology and direct experience partnering with Indigenous communities. Michael has supported food-security initiatives in Victoria and contributed to healthcare innovation at Island Health, working across systems to translate community needs into practical solutions.

At heart he is a hands-on connector who has worked with aging adults experiencing complex chronic ailments and taught martial arts to children with disabilities, always centering accessibility and dignity.

Outside of professional life Michael pursues glassblowing, hiking Vancouver Island trails, and experimenting in the kitchen, interests that reflect his patient, creative, and collaborative approach to problem solving.

I acknowledge and respect the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt) Peoples on whose territory I reside in. I would like to pay my utmost gratitude to the Lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples for their historical stewardship of the land and waters, which continues to this day.
