Megan joined CanAssist in 2014 and is passionate about building more inclusive communities through innovative customized assistive technologies and programs for people with disabilities. As Client Relations Manager, she works closely with individuals, families, and community partners to explore and coordinate solutions that support independence, safety, and dignity.
Megan’s career has been all about building community, supporting clients, and driving inclusive innovation. Before joining CanAssist, she worked with the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, where she learned a lot about communications, event planning, and working with different groups an experience that still shapes how she collaborates today.
With a background in client relations and community development, Megan brings empathy, flexibility, and a strong respect for lived experience to her work. She believes in working together, valuing equity, and is committed to fostering environments where everyone can participate fully.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, her partner and their black lab, Scout. She is a big animal lover and advocate committed to their well-being. When she can, Megan likes getting outside whether it’s quadding, boating or beachcombing. Originally from Pemberton, BC, she has come to truly appreciate the island’s unique charm and relaxed pace of life since moving there.
I would like to acknowledge the ancestral and unceded territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, on whose traditional territory the university stands, and the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples. I want to express my gratitude and appreciation within the unceded traditional territories of the T’Sou-ke and Sc'ianew peoples on which I live. I pay respect to their elders, both past and present, who have been stewards of this land throughout many generations. As we honour these peoples, let us also consider the legacy of violence, displacement, forced migration, and settlement that bring us together on this land today.
