Lili is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Leadership Studies at the University of Victoria. She is joining CanAssist as an Administrative and Finance Assistant Co-op and is excited to contribute to work that supports accessibility, inclusion, and quality of life for people in the community.
Before coming to Canada, Lili worked as a university guidance counsellor at an international school in Shanghai for more than seven years. In her previous work, she supported students and families in exploring academic interests, selecting university programs, and planning post-secondary pathways around the world. This experience helped her develop strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills, as well as patience, empathy, and a deep commitment to supporting others. Lili is passionate about inclusion, especially in educational and community settings. Since moving to Victoria with her family, her own experience as a newcomer has deepened her appreciation for belonging, accessibility, and community support. She recently participated in the Inclusive Sports Festival in Victoria, where she witnessed the joy and connection that inclusive recreation can create.
Outside of work and school, Lili enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. Together, they like exploring parks, beaches, and gardens around Victoria. She also loves animals, especially dogs and cats. In her free time, she enjoys singing worship songs and spending time with her church community.
“I am very excited to join the CanAssist team this summer. I look forward to learning from the team and contributing my skills and experiences to support meaningful work in the community.”
I live, study, and work on the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, known today as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, and the W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and work on these lands, and I am committed to listening, learning, and supporting reconciliation.
