Jordyn Zilkie utilizes her passion for equity and inclusion, and her background in psychology through her work at Canassist. She is committed to removing barriers in society for those with disabilities, as she believes everyone belongs and deserves support to thrive. Jordyn is passionate about reducing misinformation and stigma around mental health and believes in the power of community. Her current role as Operations Coordinator for an inclusive child care consulting team allows her to specialize in research and educational accessibility. She believes that supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people begins in the early years.

Jordyn’s favourite part of her work is connecting with community. Whether it is internal within the organization or external from it, the people she works with often fill her cup and motivate her. She feels privileged to be able to dedicate her time to making the world a little more inclusive. In her personal time, she enjoys reading, being in nature, and making art.

I acknowledge and respect the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt) Peoples on whose territory I live and work on, and the Lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. I also acknowledge the Secwépemc Peoples for caring for the land which I was born and raised since time immemorial.
