Alex is a Computer Engineering Co-op student with a passion for optimisation of workflows. Originally stemming from a desire to more efficiently place inputs in video games, this search led to many adaptive devices which opened his eyes to the possibilities and cross-over between the two worlds.
Alex has had the opportunity to work in many different environments. Through Island Health he has had the opportunity to interact with patients of various abilities and assisting them with finding appropriate transport to appointments. On previous a co-op he worked on process standardisation and optimisation of boating systems to improve the ability to perform maintenance when a given line of boat comes in. Other highlights include a 360 Lidar room scanner with VR viewing, an online MMO game prototype system, and a framework for a line of adaptive/optimisation game control system.
Originally coming from Camosun’s Electronics Technologist program and then onto Computer Engineering at Uvic, as well as personal experience in Game Design. Alex has developed a wide range of skills that can be applied to many different areas of a given project. He approached many areas of his work from a perspective of optimisation which often led him to many solutions originally developed as adaptive technologies.
Torn between fitness and gaming Alex can be found training calisthenics, climbing, martial arts or exploring the world of Azeroth. Originally coming from Dubai and now finding a home in Canada.
