Employer Education Specialist
The Employer Education Specialist is responsible for employer education and awareness, with a target of reaching 105 employers in Greater Victoria to build their inclusive HR literacy and capacity to hire, onboard, and retain persons with disabilities.
The role delivers workshops, resources, and guidance to employers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed for inclusive hiring and workplace practices. To remain connected to participant experiences, the Specialist will also support a job coaching caseload (3-5 participants), ensuring that employer education reflects real-world needs.

- Compensation and Benefits: $54,000 – $60,000/year (pro-rated)
- Reports to: Program Coordinator
Your responsibilities
Employer Education & Awareness
- Deliver employer awareness and education activities to 105 employers in Greater Victoria.
- Lead workshops (virtual and in-person) on disability inclusion, accessibility, and HR best practices.
- Develop, refine, and distribute employer-facing resources, including the Employer Toolkit.
- Promote inclusive options such as job carving, job sharing, flexible schedules, and home-based roles.
- Highlight the skills and strengths of persons with disabilities to improve employer confidence and literacy.
Employer Outreach & Relationship Building
- Identify and recruit employers (small, medium, and large organizations across sectors) to participate in education activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, providing follow-up support and guidance.
- Liaise with employers to address questions and ensure education outcomes are tracked.
Job Coaching
- Provide one-on-one job coaching support to 3-5 participants.
- Ensure participant perspectives inform employer education activities and resources.
Program Support & Administration
- Track and document employer engagement, workshop delivery, and outcomes.
- Contribute to program evaluation and funder-required reporting.
- Attend CanAssist team meetings and support cross-team collaboration.
Required qualifications and experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, social sciences, education, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
- Experience in employer engagement, workforce development, or employment services.
- Knowledge of supported employment models, inclusive employment practices, and workplace accommodations.
Other preferred qualifications
Strong facilitation and public speaking skills, with the ability to educate diverse audiences.
