CanAssist conducts a social media survey

Latest News

CanAssist is conducting a survey about the accessibility of social media – such as Facebook or YouTube – for people with developmental disabilities.

One of the goals of this survey is to determine just how accessible various social media platforms currently are for people with developmental disabilities, along with the reasons for this accessibility or the barriers that still prevent access.

Input from people with developmental disabilities, their families, friends and caregivers about social media is crucial to the project's success. We will use the results from the survey to write a report on the state of accessibility of social media tools, as well as to provide recommendations on how to address the barriers and allow more people to take advantage of these tools.
