Alyssa originally joined CanAssist in 2014 as Manager of the TeenWork program, and since then has filled various roles in the organization. Currently, Alyssa oversees the traditional TeenWork program as well as the regional TeenWork Canada program, which is delivered in Victoria and Vancouver. Alyssa also supports inclusive sport and recreation initiatives both on campus and throughout the Greater Victoria region, including supporting the work of OneAbility. Alyssa's formal education is in Neuroscience (MSc., University of Alberta), Kinesiology (BSc., University of Victoria) and fitness instruction/education (CSEP-CPT). In addition, Alyssa has a strong background in leadership and knowledge transfer, with several years' experience in program management and post-secondary teaching and science media.
